Michael James, MAEd, LCMHCA, NCC, is a therapist and consultant who supports men and families healing from trauma through counseling and promotes educator wellness through consulting. He was named the 2023–2024 Duplin County Schools Counselor and Support Staff of the Year and received the Dr. MLK Jr. Leadership Award. His experience as an assistant principal informs both his consulting practice and his pursuit of a PhD in counselor education and supervision at The Ohio State University, where his research centers on intergenerational trauma affecting rural families, Black men, and educator well-being. Through his work, James is committed to expanding access to culturally responsive care for underserved communities and equipping educators with the tools to sustain their wellness and drive meaningful outcomes for the scholars they serve.
